What is the difference between the 'Insanity Pylons' brand of ski pylons and the other guys'?
a.gif
There are a few main reasons that set us apart from the competition: versatility, compatibility, affordability, and service.

First, Versatility. When we created the Insanity Pylon, we pioneered a radically new concept that uses a portable base and an adjustable support system so you never have to permanently alter anything on your boat. Set-up is quick and easy, and doesn't require any tools. The Insanity Pylon comes ready to go, right out of the box!

Second, Compatibility. Our pylons are engineered to be completely universal and will fit ANY ski boat, plus it doesn't require any permanent or lengthy installation! We believe that if you want a pylon on your boat, you shouldn't have to sacrifice the value of your boat in the process. You can set up our Original Insanity Pylon for two different heights (6' & 7') to fit your style. It's like having two pylons in one!

Third, Affordability. Our Original Insanity Pylon is by far the best bang for your buck for any brand. For less than you would pay for a traditional pylon, you can get a complete pylon system that is easier to use, stronger, and is completely universal compared to other so called "universal" pylons that require cutting and drilling holes into your boat. By using high-strength T6 aircraft aluminum, our pylons are less expensive, and built to last a lifetime and come with a full warranty!

Fourth, Service. We believe that service isn't just nine-to-five. If you call our customer support team, we'll be more than happy to answer your call any time 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We believe that since you are loyal enough to buy our products, the least we can do is answer your questions on your schedule.

My boat came with a base plate that was for the boat's original stock pylon. Can I use the existing base plate instead of the Insanity Pylon's base? Do you sell any adapters?
a.gif
Yes, you can use an adapter to make it possible to use your boat's existing stock base plate instead of the one that comes with the Insanity Pylon, however it will cost extra. The Insanity Pylon's warranty does not cover damage caused by use of any adapters other than those made by Insanity Pylons, inc., and consequently, does not cover incidental damage to your boat's existing base plate. For us to find the best adapter to fit your need, we'll need some accurate measurements, and some photos of the plate to make sure the adapter works properly.

How strong is the Insanity Pylon? Is it strong enough to tow a slalom skier? How about a tube?
a.gif
The Insanity Pylon is actually very strong. The Insanity Pylon is only approved for wakeboarding and other medium-load water sports (double-skis, kneeboarding, etc), and is not approved for slalom sking, tubing, towing watercraft, or other high-load conditions. The majority of the tow-load (skier) is placed on the long ratcheting strap that goes from the front of the boat to the top of the pylon. The minimum breaking strength on the ratcheting strap is 1500 lbs, which is more than sufficient for most skiers. During regular and excessive abuse of our test pylon, we have successfully towed many heavy items you wouldn't even think of towing with a pylon (of which we'll omit for liability purposes) without the tow straps showing any signs of strain (do not exceed a towing load (capacity) of 250 lbs, doing so will void warranty and can cause a very dangerous situation leading to serious injury or death). Let's just say we proudly abuse it regularly on loads in excess of 400+ lbs at high speed from the highest tow line of each pylon (we still have yet to break one). If you would like to replace your one-inch ratcheting strap with a much stronger two-inch ratcheting strap, you can do so by visiting our replacement parts section inside our online store.
